Hiring: Florist
DRIED is a small independent floristry studio specialising in and creating beautiful dried and preserved flower bouquets and bunches online, for commercial premises and for weddings.
All our bouquets and bunches are curated and hand-tied here in our Edinburgh studio and are delivered UK-wide and overseas.
We we are looking for the right person to join our small independent team as a florist working on online orders, weddings and commerical flowers.
The right candidate must be creative and work well in a fast-paced environment to fulfil online orders and wedding prep. The right candidate will also have strong communication skills when liaising with wedding customers in order to create beautiful blooms in line with the couple's visions. You will also need good time management skills and the ability to prioritise your workload.

JOB ROLE
- Fulfil online orders in a timely manner
- Prepare dried flower bouquets to a high standard and carefully package them for shipping. Creativity and eye for detail required to create consistent quality of dried flower bouquets
- Prepare orders of individual stems/flowers/grasses and carefully package them for shipping
- Ensure all orders are safely and securely packaged whilst looking professional, presentable and on-brand
- Communicate with wedding customers to ensure strong customer satisfaction and fulfil the customer's brief
- Prepare wedding flowers to a high standard including bouquets, buttonholes, flower crowns, table decorations, installations, hair accessories etc.
- Help to design and install custom arrangements for commercial clients (some travel required)
- Use the online Shopify system to retrieve orders and use the online mail system to prepare orders for postage (training provided)
- Manage inventory: keep track of stock levels and place orders
- Deal with custom orders: creativity and eye for design required to create custom bouquets. Work well to customer’s brief to create desired product
Person specification
- Keen eye for design, colour matching and style
- Creative, can-do attitude
- Great problem solver
- Genuine love of flowers and a desire to work with them
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and ensure orders go out on time
- Keen interest in floristry, experience is necessary
- Experience with wedding and events flowers
- experience with dried flowers preferred
- Ability to be thorough and pay attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and independently as you will sometimes be working alone
- IT literate to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer
- Flexibility required for working schedule and willingness to work additional hours during peak periods
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a growing business
- Care and attention will be required to package orders and prepare them for post.
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
- Strong communicator and professional manner when dealing directly with customers
Working hours:
- Working hours are Monday-Friday, however if you wish to work weekends that can be negotiated. Hours 9:00-16:30 with a half an hour unpaid lunch break. We are happy to be flexible with hours and times which can be negotiated.
Pay: £12.00-14 per hour depending on experience
